Gregory Gottlieb
Managing Director, Airships Arabia

Gregory is recognized as a global expert in airship and aerostat technologies, markets, operations, support and infrastructure. Having managed the British Army’s airship activities during the 1990s, including the provision of aerial surveillance for the US Government over the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Gregory went on to be Head of Strategic Planning for CargoLifter AG in Germany, which built one of the world's largest hangars (360m x 220m x 106m internal dimensions) as part of a large scale logistics airship development. He also instigated a strategic partnership agreement between CargoLifter and Boeing in 2002. Gregory later worked with Boeing, EADS, DARPA, US TRANSCOM and several other companies and organizations as a Subject Matter Expert on airship and aerostat technology and operations, advising on their use for logistics, surveillance and communications.

Gregory has been in the UAE since 2006, initially for a medium sized US company working throughout the region, and then for Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI), a Tawazun Subsidiary, with primary responsibility for the company's airship and aerostat related activities.

Earlier this year, he left ADASI to pursue a new opportunity to establish a hybrid airship operating and maintenance centre for the Middle East, based in the UAE.

Gregory is a Council Member of The Airship Association, edits their quarterly technical journal, AIRSHIP, and is a member of the AIAA Lighter-Than-Air Technical Committee, which he chaired in 2001.
